South Walton’s Best Kept Secret

The beaches of South Walton and 30A are popular summertime retreats. People from all over come to sink their toes in our powder-white sand during summer. Yes, it’s no secret that summer is a great time to visit South Walton but autumn is even better! 

Visit between the middle of September through the middle of November and find the same powder-white sand without so many toes. The temperatures are ideal, with just enough fall in the air for you to spend all day outside and on the beach. The crowds are fewer so you have the beach and the roads to yourself, not to mention your pick of restaurants with no wait. And because it’s “down season” you can book your favorite 30A Vacation Rental at a lower price! 

There are plenty of festivities to enjoy during summer, however our most favorite outdoor events happen in the fall. The Market Shops Bloody Mary Festival on Saturday, October 7th, Baytowne’s Beer Fest on Friday and Saturday, October 13th & 14th, Rosemary Beach Uncorked on Saturday, October 14th and Seeing Red Wine Festival Thursday through Saturday, November 9th-11th are just a few of the festivals that locals look forward to each year! 

South Walton can also get a little competitive come fall season. South Walton’s Run/SUP Race takes place on Saturday, September 30th at Grayton Beach State Park. 30A Half Marathon and 5K will be held on Sunday, October 15th at Gulf Place and Emerald Coast Lip Sync Battle will take the stage on Thursday, October 19th at Grand Boulevard.
