The stunning scenery of Florida’s Gulf Coast can inspire all kinds of creativity. Beautiful sunsets, blue-green waters, and colorful landscaping can all get your artistic juices flowing and looking for place to create. There are plenty of places near 30A to get artsy with family and friends. All year round, you can drop in to one of the local places for arts and crafts. Here are some of the popular spots around town to do just that.

The Artists at Gulf Place has eight galleries full of unique works by local artists. Each colorful gallery is full of beautiful displays of everything from pottery and photography to acrylics and recycled mixed media. Browse the showcase and get inspiration or take home your own pieces. Check the calendar for art classes to join each week. Classes include snow globe decorating, acrylic pours, tie dye workshops, and framed sand prints. 

The Shard Shop in Grayton Beach is a great way to recycle glass into beautiful art and mosaics. Book a class for ShardWorx for a girls’ night out or date night and the Shard Shop provides all the supplies. Teachers are even on hand to help you create your own masterpiece with glass and mixed media materials. After completing your work, leave the canvas overnight to be sealed and pick up the next day. Locations are also available in Destin and Miramar Beach.

The Hub 30A has paint parties on select days during the season. On September 24th, you can Paint & Party with Eye Catchers Artworks. From 5pm-8pm, join friends to create the art of the day: a rainbow giraffe. Reserve your spot and supplies will be provided on site. 

Explore the art of glassmaking at Gilbert Glassworks. Owner, Russ Gilbert is the owner of the nationally-renowned Fusion Art Glass galleries. This hands-on learning studio provides workshops on fusing fundamentals and a class to create your own fused coral bowl. Traditional and contemporary glass work is done onsite to be observed by appointment or you can reserve a spot for a class.
