While the month of February marks a slower season for South Walton that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun! The weather is cool and crisp with blues skies boasting sunshine. It’s a perfect time to be outside enjoying our favorite festivals in February.
On Saturday, February 15th from 12:00-4:00pm, The Village of Baytowne Wharf hosts one of the biggest Gumbo Festivals in our area. Gulf Coast restaurants will feature their secret recipes while you spend the afternoon sampling prize winning gumbo. Vote for your favorite in the “People Choices Award”, while celebrity judges name the “Area’s Best”. Pair the best Gumbo with the best Bloody Marys and you’ve got an afternoon full of deliciousness.
On Saturday, February 22nd from 3:30-6:30pm The 30A Wine Festival Grand Tasting takes place at Alys Beach, a short walk or bike ride from your 30A Vacation Rental. Prepare to sip on wines from across the globe. Over 80 wines will be showcased as well as local and regional eateries serving up small bites that pair perfectly. This celebration of wine is in its ninth year and benefits Children’s Volunteer Health Network.
On Friday, February 28th, an annual culinary event like no other takes place at the Seaside Lyceum from 7:00-9:00pm, with a VIP reception from 6:00-7:00pm. Taste of the Race with Chef Emeril Lagasse kicks off Seaside Schools Half Marathon and 5K. Enjoy amazing food and live music with Emeril himself!
This 18th Annual Race Weekend continues Saturday, February 29th from 12:00-6:00pm with Seaside Half Marathon & 5K Race Expo. Pick up your packet, browse vender merchandise, bid on auction items and enjoy a beautiful February afternoon with music and friends. Sunday, March 1st, is race day!
