Wales Tail Watercolor

This house was absolutely beautiful, and clean. Big enough for 8 of us, with one child sleeping with her parents. There was not one thing broken, or old in this house! Beautiful porches, quite area. It was very close to Watercolor Camp, and Publix. We had two suv, but rented bikes. Now that one thing I can tell you about, they tell you’ll get a discount to go to a certain bike rental, and you do get it, but the bikes were god awful, breaking all the time. Service was really bad! One more thing if you’d like to be closer to the beach, Seaside. It’s not that close to bike ride, or walk ! Otherwise just wonderful home.

Amazing Vacation Rental!

We stayed at A Whale’s Tail for a pandemic delayed girls trip. The house was beautiful and comfortable. We would stay there again without question! We have no complaints, just a few notes: the amenities/access to facilities wasn’t totally clear during the booking and pre arrival phase. The Beach Club was AMAZING but we had to call to understand we could use it with our wristbands. Supplies: It was told to us that each bathroom would only have 1 role of TP before arrival, but for the price of the rental, it seems like more could be provided. Also only one extra trash bag was provided for 5 day stay—seems like that could be adjusted as well. Would also like to suggest beach towels for the house. Every other vacation home we have rented at a beach location has included beach towels. When you are flying to a destination, it is more difficult to bring supplies such as these, and having to purchase things like trash bags locally is wasteful. Suggestion: offer an upgraded provisions package where for additional fee, more of these items could be provided including beach towels.
The management company was WONDERFUL during our stay. They promptly answered any of our questions, and rapidly responded when we had challenges with our door code. We were also dealing with a tropical storm warning during our stay and Benchmark was great with updates and communications regarding the weather. Would absolutely book our next rental through Benchmark!!! Thank you for the great vacation!

Benchmark was a great experience for us. Communication and follow-up was above expectations, the property was clean and ready. We would stay with them again! We had a breaker trip and a maintenance call was on site within an hour - we could not have asked for a better experience.

Family vacation

House was very nice. It is within walking distance to Publix so that was very helpful with a large family. I wish we would have known about the exclusive golf rental contract Watercolor has so that we could have had a golf cart. Not having a golf cart is difficult getting back and forth to the beach with all of our things. Riding bikes was fine for everything else.

We had a lovely time in this gorgeous home. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax and to come together. It was clean and ready for us when we arrived. We loved the proximity to the grocery store and the ease of getting around the area.

A whale of a time at Whale's Tail

My wife and I planned a spur-of-the-moment trip the last week of February to celebrate getting our Covid-19 vaccinations. Since we had never been to Seaside/Watercolor this early in the year, we weren't expecting the wonderful weather that we had. And since it was pre-Spring break, we didn't expect any family members to be able to join us. But our son, his wife and 2 little girls joined us for most of our stay. We loved Whale's Tail! The house was conveniently located in the Crossings District, one block away from Publix Grocery, and a very short bike ride from Camp Watercolor, and only a little longer ride to Seaside town square. We loved the way the house is decorated. It it very cute! The girls had online school every day, so the little office nook worked perfectly as a school desk. If this house if available when we plan our next trip to Seaside/Watercolor, we will definitely be repeat customers. We liked the fact that we received a $315 credit with RentGearHere. We used it for bike rental and for chair setups on the beach.

The location was wonderful. The house layout was great, loved the bunk room being on a separate floor. Few suggestions: 1. a map of the Watercolor grounds and he list of all the amenities, took a bit to figure everything out 2. Needed more towels per bathroom, 2 towels for the master and 1 dish towel is not enough. 3. Need to update the pillows super flat. 4. Keurig machine didn’t work and the regular coffee machine was on its way out.

Couldn't Be Happier

This house had it all. The kitchen, large living area, quaint patio overlooking a courtyard area between other properties, larger beds for the adults and even a set of bunk beds for the little ones. The location is nice and quiet, but also a very quick bike ride down to the downtown square area, Watercolor Inn and Camp Watercolor...all of which we visited frequently during this trip. Our family loved this property and look forward to visiting again in the future.
One thing to note, unless you reserve your beach chairs at the Watercolor Beach Club well in advance, you'll need to arrive between 8:30a-9:00a in order to secure them on a first come, first served basis. One umbrella/two chairs was $75/day and we generally found ourselves on the 3rd row, which was great because it was closer to the bar, restroom and restaurant. We also didn't need to bring towels each day as those were supplied when we went to both the Watercolor Beach Club as well as Camp Watercolor.
You won't be disappointed in this property!
