Dune Lakes of 30A

South Walton has 15 named coastal dune lakes that fall along the Scenic Highway of 30A: Fuller Lake, Morris Lake, Campbell Lake, Stallworth Lake, Allen Lake, Oyster Lake, Draper Lake, Big Redfish Lake, Little Redfish Lake, Alligator Lake, Western Lake, Eastern Lake, Deer Lake, Camp Creek Lake and Lake Powell. These rare bodies of freshwater are formed when rainwater pools behind sand dunes created by wind blowing across the coastline. The area surrounding these lakes is home to unique wildlife such as alligators, bald eagles, shorebirds, butterflies, and more! Visitors will also find plenty of nature trails perfect for an afternoon hike or bike ride.
