What’s New to Eat on 30A

If you have been coming to the Gulf Coast for years now, you most likely have some favorite spots to eat that have become a tradition. There are so many great places for all kinds of palates that it can be hard to narrow it down during a short trip. We have a few new places in town we wanted to let you know about that might just be your new favorite restaurant next time you visit.

Black Bear Bread Company opened earlier this year in the Shops of Grayton Beach on Logan Lane. They serve fresh baked bread along with breakfast and lunch from an impressive menu. For breakfast, choose from a variety of delicious pastries, breakfast sandwiches, or a quinoa and poached egg meal. For lunch, enjoy local greens, chili, or choose from three different sandwiches. Pair your meal with Stumptown coffee, tea, beer or wine. This cozy café has a laidback atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating as well as a very friendly staff.

Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar opened last month on the corner of 30A and Highway 393. Named after the hard to find “shunk gulley” reef in the Gulf of Mexico, this full service bar and restaurant offers classic coastal cuisine. The menu features a wide variety of seafood but they also offer salads, burgers, and delicious desserts. While great food and live music is a big attraction, the view is also a huge perk. The second story bar boasts 40 feet of unobstructed Gulf views! You can buy a souvenir from your trip at the gift shop onsite or browse the Shunk Gulley liquor store across the street.

For a sweet treat, head next door to Pecan Jacks where you can satisfy your sweet tooth with tons of delightful options. This Ice Creamery and Candy Kitchen features all kinds of amazing ice cream flavors from banana pudding and peach cobbler to Kahlua espresso and cherry amaretto. There are also southern pralines, brittles, and chocolates to sample and purchase. The owners and staff are known to be happy and helpful and have people coming back over and over.

These are some of our favorite places that opened this year and we are looking forward to the 30A community growing even more. What’s even better is many of the spots we love are within walking distance of 30A condos. If you can’t get the crew to join you, take a walk and get yourself a special 30A snack or meal. When you bring back a box of Pecan Jacks pralines of Black Bear pastries, they’ll be eager to join you next time.
