30A is Pet-Friendly!

When you are planning a trip, there can be a long list of things you need. Add kids on the trip and the list doubles. If you’re bringing a family pet, even more supplies are coming with you. But there is no need to be overwhelmed when you bring your furry friends to the Emerald Coast. Here are some tried and true tips when you travel with your pup.

After a long drive or flight, some dogs can feel out of routine and get anxious. If you have a nervous pup, bring some of his favorite toys or a small dog bed for him to feel comfortable. Don’t forget to bring his leash from home and extra bags for waste pickup. If your dog is used to having a certain food, bring it to your vacation home so there won’t be any poor adjustments to a new type.

Garrett Realty Services, Inc. knows our dogs are family too so we have a wide selection of luxury 30A vacation rentals that can accommodate the whole crew. When you make those lasting memories like taking in a stunning sunset or making an early morning run near the beach, you can have your trusty companion there to share it with.

In case of emergencies, it is wise to know ahead of time where the nearest Vet is to your rental. 30A Vet is located in Gulf Place and is a great place for pet care with a wonderful reputation. Next door, you’ll find Dapper Dogs Grooming just in case you need to get Rocky spruced up for a night out on the town.

Want to get your four-legged friend some exercise while you’re on vacation? You can stroll around cobblestone streets in Alys Beach or let him run alongside you while bike riding through Seaside. Many restaurants have outdoor patio seating where you can grab coffee or a snack during your time out. It’s not uncommon to see a special jar of treats at in the checkout area just for your good boy!

So don’t waste money this vacation getting a dog-sitter at home. We love pets here on the coast and meeting new ones around town. Tell Cookie to pack her bones because it’s time for a road trip to 30A!
