5 Things You Can’t Miss in South Walton

5 Things

Our beautiful beaches attract thousands all year long. While you can find plenty of things to do each month, the colder weather and early sunsets may limit your beach time. No worries! We are going to fill you in on some exciting things you can do during the upcoming weeks.

The Hub is a fun place everyone can enjoy with lots of activity every week. Great restaurants, ice cream, and weekly movies on an outdoor big screen make it one of our favorite spots. Bring a blanket or sit near the firepit to stay warm. Check their calendar for matinee or evening movies to bring the whole family.

Seaside Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 9am to 1pm. Live music can be enjoyed throughout the morning while you browse booths set up for local produce and crafts. Seaside is beautiful every day and the farmers market goodies are just another perk to enjoy a stroll in the area each weekend.

The 30A Songwriters Festival is a much anticipated event each year with brilliant singer/songwriters coming to the coast for 4 days of music and fun. During January 12th-15th, 175 songwriters will perform at more than 25 venues in South Walton. Among the many artists traveling from around the country are Emmylou Harris, Lee Ann Womack, Patty Griffin, and Shawn Mullins. Along with great music, VIP dinners will be available with ticket packages.

The Craft Bar on 30A hosts Trivia Tuesday each week at 7pm. Grab your smartest friends and compete for bar tabs and gift cards as well as exclusive deals on Idyll Hounds beers. Besides a fun night, the Craft Bar has delicious food. The menu varies from lamb burgers and seared tuna to southern fried chicken and fish & chips. Don’t leave without trying the candied bacon brownie & bourbon ice cream!

On Sundays, enjoy a Chicken & Waffles ride at Tom’s Landing hosted by the Bay Restaurant and Emerald Coast Hydrobikes. They’ll provide a tasty brunch with a leisurely Hydrobike ride around the Choctawhatchee Bay. Chef Jim Shirley cooks up a delicious meal paired with a mimosa or bloody Mary and guests can have the best Sunday Funday around!

These are a few things people are excited about around town. Cooler temperatures does not mean lack of activities! 30A rentals are booked all winter with beach visitors enjoying the gorgeous Emerald Coast and everything it has to offer. Come visit!
